THE VENUE

SECOND STORY

Picture
Please visit www.secondstory.com.au/ for more information
If you’ve ever wandered around Collingwood, Melbourne, then you’ve most likely seen the biggest rainbow in town.

A space with global appeal, Second Story has made it's name as Melbourne’s hottest personal development venue, regularly hosting international facilitators for sell-out workshops, healings and events.

From yoga and meditation, to dance, emotional release work, tantra and sexuality, and much more - all the transformational high vibes are happening and no day looks quite the same behind the rainbow.

GETTING TO THE VENUE

SECOND STORY is the BIG RAINBOW WAREHOUSE located at 222 Johnston St, Collingwood.

For those that have not been to the venue before, please DO NOT confuse the address in Google Maps with 222 Johnston Street, FITZROY, which is only 1km away from us, but is not us. Second Story Studios is on the corner of JOHNSTON and HODDLE Streets.

  • Car Parking - There's plenty of 4-hour street parking in the area and there is also a 150-space car park right next to Victoria Park Station on Lulie St (2-3 min walk) which is $6 all-day parking. *Please note the rear car park is for staff and tenants only and is shared with the business Pea in a Pod next door, so please do not attempt to park in this car park during 9am to 5pm as it is not for public use.
  • Bicycles - There is bicycle parking in the foyer of the building @ 222 Johnston Street, or underneath the stairs from Sackville Street.  We love it when people ride to the venue, it's the best for your self and the environment!
  • Trains - Victoria Park Train Station is a 150m walk (2-3 min) from Second Story. Victoria Park Train Station is on the South Morang and Hurstbridge train lines.
  • Trams - Route #86, Stop 19 Smith Street, is a 700m walk (9min) from the building.
  • Buses - There are so many, that there are too many to list. The bus stop is directly outside the building. Check www.ptv.vic.gov.au/ for details.

WHERE DO I EAT?

While there will be delicious, healthy food for sale at the festival, there’s plenty on offer in the surrounding area.

Nobody will be going hungry!

Luckily for participants, Collingwood—and neighbouring suburbs, Abbotsford and Fitzroy—are Melbourne’s hipster and vegetarian food fare capitals.

With something for every dietary preference and appetite (whether you’re ordering UberEats or looking to wander out for a bite) these are our top picks close by.

If you have a car, bike or fancy a longer walk, we recommend a trip to Fitzroy’s Brunswick St. for Vegie Bar and so many more places it would take us weeks to list them all.

WHAT IF I'M THIRSTY?

Cosmic Jimmy’s (Second Story’s café bar) is the puurrrfect place to quench your thirst between workshops and dance moves at Big Love Fest.

Named after the venue’s original cat mascot, the menu is bursting at the seams with refreshing goodness. From locally produced kombucha and herbal elixir cocktails to the best cacao and hot tonics north of the river, the organic, plant-based menu (no cow milk here!) will keep your good vibes flowing from morning latte into the night.

WHERE CAN PEOPLE INTEGRATE - OUTSIDE OF THE VENUE

Second Story is a 10-minute walk from the sacred banks of the Yarra river—hands down the best spot for post-workshop integration!
It’s the perfect spot to take a quiet moment for yourself and acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land, the Boon Wurrung and Woiwurrung (Wurundjeri) peoples of the Kulin Nation and pay respect to their Elders, past and present. If you look carefully along the trail, you’ll see art and storytelling created by local school children and artists dedicated to the Wurundjeri people.
The nearby Abbotsford Convent and Collingwood Children’s farm are also prime spots to take a moment to chill on the grass. While you’re there, why not take advantage of a trip to the legendary Lentil As Anything for grounding, pay-as-you-feel vegetarian fare? You’ll be glad you did.
